We’re huge fans of Wayne White’s word paintings that feature 3D sayings on top of traditional landscapes and the Los Angeles-based artist recently put together a new batch of work for his second major solo exhibition at the Joshua Liner Gallery in NYC. I’M HAVING A DIALOGUE WITH THE UNIVERSE AND YOU’RE JUST SITTING THERE is a conglomeration of all different types of White’s work – kinetic sculptures, murals, word paintings, works on paper, and a wallpaper installation – all that center around themes of vanity, hubris, and artists’ inflated egos. While in NYC preparing for the show, Dress Code shot a video of White strapped to a flatbed truck playing the banjo as he was driven around the city, as only he would. The video also gives a behind the scenes glimpse at the show.
Hurry!! White’s show runs through October 8th, 2016.
