New song from Doc Robinson + win tickets to the Deep End release party and some vinyl

“Drive Slow,” the new song from Columbus duo Doc Robinson, and your new favorite jam for the rest of the summer.

We’re totally obsessed with this band right now—and we’re not the only ones.

Their first single from a year ago, “It’s Over,” had pretty much everything you could ask for—triumphant horns, boom-bap drums with a handclap beat, and a hook as sticky as a three-year-old’s car seat—and is close to being the BBQ anthem of choice locally for the second consecutive summer, forget “I’m the One.”

New Day,” from last November’s Golden Daze EP, had people who don’t self-identify as pop fans humming along to a chorus that burrowed into your psyche like an undiscovered tick.

This spring, they wrote and recorded their first full-length album, Deep End, in collaboration with a collective of musicians from across the city, and then turned to Kickstarter to crowdfund the production of it.

The full outfit has been gigging everywhere this summer in preparation for the album’s release—from the Earth Day After Party at Brothers Drake, to the Short North Gala, to the Nelsonville Music Festival, to our Strawberry Jam, to the Homage x Land-Grant All-American BBQ (props for that Zutons “Valerie” cover)—building a following fueled by word of mouth with each live show. Onstage, these guys are lit and you soon will be, too.

The album release party for Deep End is this Saturday (7/22) at Skully’s, and we want you to join us for too much fun. This show will be peak summer; the night you talk about through the back half of July into August and the feel-good vibes you try to recreate with cold cans of 1862 Ale and your Spotify party playlist on repeat.

We’re giving away a pair of tickets to the release party + a vinyl copy of Deep End on our IG this week. How to enter: tag a friend that you’d like to see the show with in the comments of this post by Wednesday at noon (EST) and we’ll randomly select a winner later that day.

See you at Skully’s!
